Minnie and Maisie Coming home

Coming home

By all accounts we all had a wonderful time away. While we lapped up the sunshine, swam in the pool every day,(sometimes all day !) sampled all the wine that we could Minnie & Maisie ran in fields, got muddy (they love getting dirty, not just dirty …filthy!) and met new friends. It rained the whole week we were away apparently and they had to be showered every day.

They did miss us as we missed them, but they had been safe, loved, walked and nurtured. We landed back in Liverpool late at night so my son Andy travelled down to collect them for me so that they would be at home when we got back in the early hours. He said while they had made a fuss of him when he collected them, they had been very quiet on the journey home. When they got back in our house they were really disappointed to find nobody there and Maisie wouldn’t stop howling.

When I came through the door, they froze, just looked at me for a second or two not quite believing I was there, then all hell broke loose!! They screamed and howled and licked and jumped and I think Maisie actually did a cartwheel! I don’t think she meant to though. When my hubby followed with the luggage they ignored him because I was still getting ‘the treatment’. Oh it was lovely to be back, what a wonderful delicious welcome, I think I was missed!

When we went to bed the girls were clambering to get prime position, neither would leave my side. Minnie spent all night just giving my arm an occasional lick to check I was still there and Maisie lay on top of my legs so that if I moved, she would know about it!

We took them to the beach the next day and they had a great time, they were like two Spring lambs leaping about over the top of each other. I couldn’t go anywhere without them though, they wouldn’t leave my side not for even a second. They would look like they were fast asleep and I would get up and creep out of the door and I would turn around and both of them would be behind me.

I wouldn’t hesitate to take them to Maries again when we next go away, she proved to be a genuine dog lover and the dogs welfare was very important to her. She was true to her word and kept us informed daily with texts and photos and that was a real comfort knowing they were doing fine.

Some of the photo’s Marie sent to us of Minnie & Maisie having a great time playing, getting dirty, meeting new friends and sleeping!
