Yorkshire pudding

Ingredients:

  • 200g plain flour
  • 300ml milk
  • 3 eggs
  • oil or fat
  • salt & pepper

Directions:

Put the flour in a bowl and add a good pinch of salt and pepper.

Make a well in the flour and adding one egg at a time, stirring  them in.

Add the milk, a little at a time, lightly whisking until it’s all in and you have a smooth batter.

Put the batter mix in the fridge until your ready to use it (at least 30 minutes)

Preheat the oven to 230°.

Using a metal bun tray add about 2 teaspoons of oil or a little knob of fat to each bun hole and put in the oven for at least 10 minutes. The fat has to be really hot.

Ladle the batter into each bun hole quickly and get it back in the oven. It should be sizzling as you are doing it.

DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DURING COOKING!

Cook until they are well risen and nicely browned. Depending on your oven they should take about 20 minutes but start looking at from about 15 minutes.
