Chocolate concrete crunch
Ingredients:
- 225g Self raising flour
- 175g Sugar
- 160g melted butter
- 1 beaten eggs
- 25g Cocoa
Method:
Grease an oven tray 30 x 18 cm and set your oven to 170°
Melt the butter, add the sugar ( leaving 2 tsps for later) and combine well.
Add The flour and cocoa, mix well then add the beaten egg a little at a time. This is quite a stiff mixture, but make sure it’s well combined. This is also very hard when baked, ( not advisable to try it if you have false teeth lol )
Press the mixture into the prepared tray making sure it’s nice and even.
Sprinkle the top with water (but don’t soak it)
Oven bake for 30 – 40 minutes, allow to cool slightly before cutting into 12 portions.
If you prefer a crunchier chocolate crunch cook it for an extra 5 minutes.
You can also add chocolate chips before cooking for a less crunchier but more chocolatier finish.
The best, crunchiest, chocolate concrete i have ever made and I should know as I’ve been trying for over 30 years! Thank you so much!
