Christmas tree decorations

These are great fun for the kids to decorate and to use up old CD’s instead of throwing them away.

Most of them are so easy to cut up with a normal pair of kitchen scissors, some do crack and are more brittle so these can be used in another project! Make sure you save all the little offcuts for a future mosaic project. You can score the outline with a craft knife if you prefer but I find scissors are the best.

Obviously if you are getting the kids involved you will need to do the cutting!  Also it is not advisable for very young children to participate because the edges can be sharp.

All you do is draw on your design with a felt tip or pencil and cut it out! Draw this on the un-shiny side.

Try to keep the cut out circle in the centre of your design. You then have the option of just pushing your decoration on the tree through the hole. Alternatively you can glue on a bit a ribbon loop or pierce a small hole in which to thread a loop.

Then either let your artistic flair loose and get decorating or let the kids get involved.
